Get in close

-Your photos should be about your baby, and free from other distractions.

Keep it simple

-Even when shooting up close, there is still an unfortunate opportunity for distractions.  Try to use a solid blanket as a background behind your baby when taking photos.  Also, dressing the baby in solid colors can help keep it simple.

Natural Light

-When taking photos at a close range, using a flash can be tricky.  It often washes out

the face of the subject.  Using natural light instead of a flash can be a great way to get a well lit photo while still having shadows and highlights.

Take Photos in color

-It’s easy for us to take a color photo and convert it to black and white.  We can’t take a black and white photo and make it color though.

Resolution

-Make sure your camera is set on a high resolution when taking your photos.

Tripod

-If you have a tripod, use it.  If you don’t, try setting the camera on a stationary object.  When holding the camera by hand, there’s a big chance of movement while taking the picture.  This is where a lot of blurriness problems comes from.

Angles

-Having a straight on facial shot of your baby is not a bad thing.  However, there are many sides to your children…. Try taking pictures from many different angles.

Expressions

Happy babies are darling, but they are still precious when they are sleeping, messy crying, or just making faces. These real moments sometimes make the best memories.

Saving Photos

-Save all files (digital or scanned) with at least 300dpi (dots per inch) as a .jpg file. All photos should also be at least 1800x1200 pixels. Please do not compress the photos because they will affect the final print quality.

Photo Editing

Please leave all the editing to us! We will do all we can to make your pictures look the best they can so our product will look the best it can.
